In the past too many young people on work-based learning programmes have had to make do with poor accommodation and limited resources. Now all that is set to change as plans to establish a new Confederated Work Based Learning Centre in North Tyneside move ahead.
The Centre will be a redevelopment of premises situated close to North Tyneside College. It will provide a number of job-related "dedicated environments" where young people can practise skills and build their experience of work using the latest resources.
A first for North Tyneside, the new Centre will provide a base for a number of local work-based learning providers such as NTTS, North Tyneside College and Tyne North Training. What's more, the Centre will not just benefit young people who have left school, its facilities will be available to schools looking to extend vocational experiences for pupils in Key Stages 3 and 4.
Poor accommodation and limited resources will be a distant memory as plans to establish a new Confederated Work Based Learning Centre in North Tyneside move ahead.
