Outward Bounds in Ullswater
A group of nine young people were lucky enough, thanks to Barnardo's and the support of Morgan Crucible, to spend seven days at Outward Bound in Ullswater.

The group came together from three training providers, Barnardo's Palmersville Training, Barnardo's The Base and Northumbria Youth Action, some of the young people had not met prior to the trip. They stayed at a beautiful mansion, overlooking the lake and breathtaking scenery.

The whole group took part in a range of social, intellectual, emotional and physical challenges with the emphasis on working together, and the development of employability skills.

Activities ranged from group problem solving, to setting up an overnight camp complete with bivvey shelters and erange cookers.

The young people had a great time, despite temperatures dropping so low their boots were frozen and had to be thawed out around the camp fire!
