Presentation @ St James Park
A group of teenagers were celebrating after being given awards by Toon legend Peter Beardsley.

The 15 and 16 year old pupils, from North Tyneside, were given certificates and vouchers at St James Park. This was for successfully completing an extra-curricular programme at Barnardo's Palmersville Training Project and gaining qualifications.

Palmersville, based on the North Tyne Industrial Estate in Benton, offers training in 10 occupational areas to young people aged 16 to 21, some of whom have needs arising from circumstances including physical disabilities and behavioural problems. The areas include painting and decorating to retailing and horticulture.

The 60 pupils were from Longbenton Community College, Seaton Burn and Whitley Bay High Schools, and Norham Technical College.
